Hard Luck Bears
Our restoration of The Hard Luck Bears show at Gullivers Kingdom, we made many adjustments to this show to make it even better than the original setup.
Pre-Restoration
Our first tests revealed just how far gone this show was. The majority of the air system was in a rough state, and we knew this would be a big undertaking.
Mechanical Restoration
Main priority was restoring the mechanics to 100% working order this involved replacing the valves, rebuilding most of the pneumatic cylinders and replacing old air hosing, each character only had about 3 function working. and needed major restoration. The band now runs on 2 air pressure sources you can switch between to allow slow and smooth movements and fast and energetic depending on the show/song genre.
Cosmetics
We removed and washed all the cosmetics on the show to make them fresher and nicer looking, as well as cleaning and touching up the paint on the old latex pieces, but for the parts that were beyond repair, we cast up brand new pieces.
Showroom Re-theme
Our artists created new concepts and artwork to revitalize the showroom, not only did the building itself need a lot of work but we decided to spruce up the theming with a new paint job, fake nature theming and line-art portraits of the characters.
Halloween Theme
For Halloween we supplied a custom set of showtapes for the show, along with giving the building and stage a new spooky theme with cobwebs, grave stones, pumpkins and etc. We went as far as adding a projection system as general upgrade, this made various pumpkins come to life. New intermission skits and costumes were given to the characters aswell.
Electrical System
We designed a new electrical boards for this show to convert the system to run on the local power supply and be less of a fire risk, we also switched out the halogen stage lights for new LED stage lights, lowering the power usage and potential fire risk.The shows control system was also replaced with a digital computer based system to replace the old worn out and unreliable analogue based system, the new system is also capable of running video along side of the band and has endless song programming abilities.
Projection Mapping
Due to our new estate of the art controller system we have been able to add a projector screen to the show for more interaction and media being able to be displayed along side the characters, this has been used for music videos, countdowns and even quizzes and more interactive media at events.
